Soft Baby Toys You Can Make Yourself

Make soft stuffed toys for children is easier than you might think! Do not worry if your sewing skills are minimal. Starting with simple designs and well-chosen materials, you can create soft toys for children, that will delight your little one and stimulate their sensory and motor development.

For children in particular, and for very young children (under 3 years, may still be inclined to put toys in their mouths), the first consideration in making soft stuffed toy is safety. There should be small, such as buttons or stones that could cause suffocation if they became separated. All materials must be clean and non-toxic. You want to build your child's stuffed animals to be durable and washable.

For infants, you can make stuffed toys with any form that could be easily understood by small hands. Bright colors and interesting textures are much more important tangible ways in which this phase.

So how do you start? Here are some ideas to get you going:

Methods: Experiment with a simple 5 - star or a crescent. With a little 'embroidered suggest a mouth and eyes, you can create a star or man on the moon.

Materials:

       * 100% cotton calico is readily available in a wide selection of color prints, especially for children.
